The story of Jadesola Ohen is not typical one, her mother had left her and the father when she was just 10 years old. Hoping her mother will one day return to the house, she writes a series of letters demanding an explanation for the disappearance. Being forced to grow up without a mother figure and  mentor, she sticks to her more charismatic best friend Liz, but she's been traumatized and paranoid, having no power to trust the people in her life. In the middle of it all, in a world that has shown her nothing but rejection, and with her father now moving on and getting married to Joyce, her mother's return would prove everyone wrong.
